It is difficult to believe that in our day and age, there are still people groups who have yet to hear about the Good News of Jesus Christ. In fact, an estimated 2.7 billion people around the world have never been presented with the Gospel. That’s 2.7 billion people, nearly two out of every five people, who live each day with no true hope.
We who profess to believe in Him know that He is our one true hope. What about those who have never heard His precious name?
The people we serve suffer from poverty and disease. Children are unable to attend school regularly because of chronic diarrhea due to the bacteria found in their water source. They wander in search of food and water – the very water that makes them sick. Because of their sickness they are unable to work or provide for their families. What reason do they have to hope? Who can save them from the hopeless situation they face? How would their lives change if they knew Jesus?
“If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” John 7:38
